Kush & Oj, (no seeds, no pulp)

OH KAAAY!!!!! As my maine man Young Wiz Khalifa would say. And for all you mellow music listeners, and weed smokers, I know you been waking and baking to that Kush and OJ. Dubbed the official Mixtape for National Weed Day (4/20) Kush and Oj by Wiz Khalifa has been in heavy rotation in plenty of cars and ipods since the day it came out. Wiz Khalifa is a very talented rapper. He definetely a breath of fresh air in the game, being that he doesnt rap about the same thing every other rapper does. But with him being so unique, it may turn some people off too. Out of the 20 track, 3 skit mixtape, 17 songs are about smoking weed. We kno you smoke weed, but i want to hear somethin a little different sometimes. At one point in the Cd, i thought i was listening to the same song just on a different beat. And when I listen to one song about weed, and the next song he sings "Do you want me to make weed song!!? Well hear goes a weed song!!" I've been listening to weed songs since I popped in the CD! Can I hear a party song? A realistic song? I wonder how long he's gonna be able to ride this weed waive without having the fans wanting something more or different.

I like Wiz Khalifa as a rapper, but he definitely has better work. There are only 2 songs that I would put on my playlist in my ipod; Track 2 Mezmorized, and Track 10 Neva Been which is my favorite of the mixtape, mainly because is the most original song on the CD. I enjoy Track 16, Good Dank, depending on my mood. But besides that, nothing else really catches my ear too well. The other songs are ok, some songs seam to lack creativity. For example, track number 9 "Up". He went into the booth, higher than high, and freestyle sang about how he was, higher than high. If he actually spent time thinkin about what to say, and thats all he came up with, TRY AGAIN. Up is definitely a song i can bypass. I would have to rate Kush and Oj by Wiz Khalifa a 6.5 out of 10. Although its not one of his best works, I would still recommend it because of his originallity as a rapper.

  1. I FEEL U I THINK WIZ KHALIFA IS DIFFERENT BUT HE DOES NEED TO FIND SOME ORIGINALITY WITHIN HIMSELF. HOPEFULLY HE WILL COME UP WITH SOME OTHER CONCEPTS. BUT THE TYPE OF MUSIC HE DOES MAKE IS GREAT ESPECIALLY IF UR HIGH.

  2. I agree. The subjects need to vary for Wiz. Im really rooting for the man to blow but don't continue to put urself in this box as a weed smoking rapper. Change is welcomed. My favorite track is Pedal To The Medal
